Employee Well-being & Mental Health Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this Employee Mental Health Policy is to promote the mental health and well-being of our employees at Oil Analysis Laboratories. We understand the impact mental health can have on our employees’ personal lives and work performance, and we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and understood.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees of Oil Analysis Laboratories.

Responsibilities

All employees are responsible for supporting their own and their colleagues’ mental health. Managers and supervisors have additional responsibilities for promoting mental health, addressing mental health concerns, and supporting their team members in times of need.

Mental Health Promotion

  • We promote mental health awareness and understanding among all employees through regular communication, training, and events.
  • We encourage all employees to take care of their mental health and to seek support when needed.

Stress Management

  • We understand that work-related stress can impact mental health, and we take measures to identify, prevent, and manage work-related stress.
  • These measures include providing a healthy work-life balance, offering flexible working arrangements, ensuring the workload is manageable, and providing training on stress management techniques.
  • The laboratory offers stress-relieving activities during breaks, including installing massage chairs in quiet spaces for employees to take a moment to destress and the availability of virtual tai chi, yoga and other mindful experiences.

Support for Mental Health Issues

  • We encourage all employees to speak up if they are experiencing mental health issues. All discussions about mental health will be treated with sensitivity, confidentiality, and respect.

Training and Education

  • All employees receive training on this policy and on mental health awareness. This training includes information on recognising mental health issues, providing support to colleagues, and resources available for help.

Non-discrimination and Confidentiality

  • We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on mental health. All employees are entitled to fair treatment and equal opportunities, regardless of their mental health status.
  • All matters related to an employee’s mental health are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
