Why not Royal Mail or Freepost?

In 2024 Royal Mail begins phasing out liquids transport on return postage services (i.e. where the receiver pays) and has already started putting restrictions on engine oils. This may not apply to parcels where the sender pays over the counter which may be at the discretion of the post office worker for a while but is an initial step of Royal Mail focussing on what it does best of letters and consumer products shipping rather than liquids transport. You may have already received resistance in 2023 with post offices refusing parcels and overall the parcels service delivery times have been found to have increased significantly since covid. Hence, although there may be a few limited cases where liquids can still be sent as Royal Mail is actively discouraging sending of fluid samples through the postal system now we have taken the decision to discontinue the Freepost service to comply with the increasing restrictions by Royal Mail. Some other labs may still be promoting samples by royal mail throughout the year, but these services are on borrowed time. We have hence applied a discount to anyone who is on one of our Royal Mail services based on your average sample shipping cost we pay for your samples depending on how you batch your samples. For contract prices, these will apply when you go to checkout.

Any Freepost bags that customers still have in their procession, we will automatically upgrade to the superior LubeWear swift courier collection service free of charge where we pick up from your site. So please use the contact the lab button to find out how to organise a courier collection for those samples you still have in stock. If you find you like the LubeWear swift service you can talk to us about making it a permanent upgrade, or you can take the discount you have been applied and use that to use your own preferred courier or indeed Royal Mail (as the sender) for the remainder of the time that remains available.

If you have ANY questions, no matter how small or silly, please reach out and contact us. We want to help you and we are confident you will be pleased with the new options, and if you are not happy, tell us so we can help make it right.
