Background
Espionage activities can be initiated by various actors, including:
- State Actors: Individuals or entities acting on behalf of a foreign government.
- Corporate Espionage: Individuals or entities acting on behalf of a competing organisation, or at risk of doing so including audit organisations with overlapping employees with many of our competitors.

- Visitor Screening: Implement strict screening procedures for all visitors entering the facility, especially those from foreign entities or competing organisations. If a meeting has not already been pre-agreed using official company email or is not known to the lab, the visitor should be asked to show ID on arrival.
Reporting
- Immediate Reporting: Any suspicious activity that could be indicative of espionage must be reported immediately to the senior management and, if necessary, to external authorities.
- Confidentiality: Ensure that reports are kept confidential to protect the reporter and the integrity of any subsequent investigation.
